Start a two-phone game

Stash’s two-phone version is being prepared for private testing. You need two compatible phones, internet access and one clear room. The phones can run Android or iOS. Both players need the same current test version.

One player chooses Create room. The other chooses Join room and enters the four-letter code. Read the room-sharing notice and continue only if you agree. Confirm that your partner is physically with you.

Together, scan a well-lit, textured table or floor. The creator saves a shared starting point and the other phone matches it. Only confirm when both green starting discs appear in the same physical place.

The hider places Momo on a reachable surface and confirms the spot. The seeker starts the hunt, follows the warmth cues and taps Momo when he appears. Both phones show the same result. When both players choose another round, the roles swap.

Explorer shows direction throughout the hunt. Sneaky reveals direction during a six-second hint. Choose your difficulty before creating the room. Practice lets you learn without opening the camera.

Camera access and privacy

Stash asks for camera access after room setup and your consent. If you declined, use Open phone settings, enable Camera for Stash, return to the app and try again. Stash does not need microphone or GPS permission.

Room sharing sends visual and spatial data to Google so both phones can match the same starting point. The other player does not receive your camera feed. Read the privacy policy before using shared AR.

Matching and keeping your place

Move slowly around the starting point from different angles. Keep the same textured surface in view. Blank walls, shiny tables, darkness and quick movements make matching harder. The creator must finish scanning before saving the starting point.

If the discs disagree, do not confirm alignment. Leave and create a fresh room. Keep Momo in the same clear room, within easy walking distance of the starting point.

If tracking is interrupted, Stash conceals Momo and freezes the hunt timer. Look around the original area until tracking recovers. Returning from another app or changing screens on a foldable phone may require Resume. If recovery fails, leave and start a fresh room.

Stash does not reliably treat walls or furniture as barriers. Use visible, reachable surfaces. Walk slowly, look up from the camera, and keep away from roads, stairs, water and breakables. Never climb to find Momo.

Connection and leaving

Keep both phones online and Stash open. If pairing times out, check the room code and try a fresh room. Some managed or restrictive networks can block the direct connection. Try both phones on your normal Wi-Fi.

If your partner leaves or the connection cannot recover, the room closes. Restarting Stash ends the session. Room codes and hiding spots are not saved for a later visit. If the shared starting point has expired, create a new room.

Supported phones

AR play needs a compatible ARCore Android device or an ARKit Apple device with camera access. Stash requires Android 8 or later, or iOS 16 or later. The OS version alone does not guarantee compatibility.

Android also needs current Google Play Services for AR. Check Google’s supported devices. Private testing is still checking actual phone combinations and tracking behavior.

Settings and support

Warmth appears in words and colours. Sound and vibration are optional in Settings. Reduced motion quiets Momo’s animation. These choices stay on your phone.

Email support@omiga.com.au with the phone models, OS versions, Stash version/build and a short description of what happened. Keep passwords, device serial numbers and private room photos out of the message.
